Let me introduce myself...
I am a forex trader.
I am also a series 3 licensed Futures Brokers and have just finished writing a book that is due to be on the market in September of 2007.
I have been working in the trading industry for a number of years. I spent a several years working for a company that made technical analysis software for stocks, options, mutual funds, you name it. At some stage a while back I moved over to my current position at a forex brokerage. So, I have been exposed to the theories. I have heard the sales pitches. But I have also seen what and who lies behind some of those theories and pitches.
I started writing in 2006 with the intent of passing along what I know.
There is a lot of mis-information in this industry. The biggest example I can point to is this thought that trading is easy. So many people get into the trading game, and specifically the forex market because they believe it is easy, that this will be the way that they can make their fortune and retire. I am sure you have heard the claims of ordinary people who have made their fortune in mere weeks or months. No one talks about the losses. In fact the Wall Street Journal recently quoted the CEO of a leading forex brokerage saying that if 15% of forex traders were successful he would be surprised.
Trading, and in particular forex trading, takes discipline. It takes time. It takes a certain level of commitment. And it involves risk. Lots of risk.
I want to tell you what other people don’t. I am not going to sell you my fabulous system. I will not tell you what and when to trade. If that is what you are looking for then you'll need to go somewhere else. There are plenty of others out there that will tell you what you want to hear. When you are sick of the gloss and b.s. then come back and take a walk with me behind the scenes in the currency market.
